Dr David Vivian is past-president and a Fellow of the Australasian Faculty of Musculoskeletal Medicine (AFMM). He has over 30 years’ experience in pain assessment & management of complex musculoskeletal problems. He is a director of Metro Spinal Clinics, and has a vast experience not only in the diagnosis and management of complex pain problems, but also in specific pain interventions including spinal and peripheral nerve stimulation, spinal radiofrequency neurotomy and epidural injection.  He has recently authored medical text-book chapters on spinal pain pathophysiology, discography, internal disc disruption, radicular pain, sacro-iliac joint assessment and intervention, interventional disc treatment and the role of diagnostic imaging in discogenic pain, and sub-edited a section on Spinal Pain and Intervention in the medical textbook, Pain Procedures in Clinical Practice.  He has also written national guidelines for spinal pain and anterior knee pain.  As Chairman of the Board of Clinical Intelligence, he is active in innovative data collection and research. Examples of the research efforts in which he is involved in within Metro Pain Clinics includes published articles in Neuromodulation, Pain Medicine and Spine in the last few years, and involvement in various prospective clinical trials.

Dr Paul Verrills is a full-time Interventional Pain Management Physician and is the co-medical director of Metro Spinal Clinic in Melbourne, Australia. He is a Fellow of the Australasian Faculty of Musculoskeletal Medicine and completed a Masters in Pain Medicine under Professor Bogduk at the University of Newcastle. He has also been awarded his International Fellowship in Interventional Pain Practice. He spent nearly a decade on the Research Committee of the International Spine Intervention Society and continues to lead a dedicated team undertaking cutting-edge research and data collection. He regularly presents in·Australasia and the United States on interventional techniques and his special interest is Neuromodulation. He is an Editorial Reviewer for Neuromodulation and Pain MedicineJournals. As a past Faculty member for the International Neuromodulation Society (INS), he has recently been appointed as President of the Australian chapter of INS. He is also an active member of the International Spine Intervention Society, World Institute of Pain, The International Association for the Study of Pain, and the Spine Society of Australia.

Dr Bruce Mitchell has an extensive Sports Medicine background (a previous AFL club doctor) and is Ex- National President of Sports Medicine Australia. Dr Mitchell is a Research Fellow at the University of Melbourne, Centre for Health, Exercise and Sports Medicine (CHESM) and has a special interest in the management of hip, buttock, back and groin pain; and the exciting new field of Neuromodulation. He is an active researcher in these fields and has published extensively. Dr Mitchell has training in spinal interventional techniques and is constantly developing these skills. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Sports Medicine and has completed a Masters of Pain Medicine. He recently completed the International Fellowship of Interventional Pain Practice.
